Closed wedding dress

Closed wedding dress

A wedding dress with a closed top is a timeless classic.

This dress will be relevant if the celebration is scheduled for early spring, autumn or winter. A closed dress will favorably emphasize the curves of the figure, place accents, and make your look gentle and mysterious.

Closed Neckline Dresses

A wedding dress can cover different parts of the body: back, shoulders, neck.

A dress with a closed back is convenient and you do not have to control whether the neckline or bra straps have moved.

The image can be played in different ways: cover the neckline with a net, an insert made of transparent fabric or lace. A back made of the same material as the dress will help make the dress strict and harmonious. The option that has already been loved by everyone is the combination of a long sleeve with a row of small buttons at the back. An interesting solution will be a plume in combination with multiple layers of fabric. Sometimes, in contrast to the closed back, a bodice is decorated.

A dress with a closed neck allows you to make focus on the face and hairstyle of the bride. The top is mainly made from the main fabric, but can also combine drapery in the neckline. If there is a collar, accessories are considered inappropriate. When choosing a dress with off the shoulders, choose one of two options: V-neckline and boat neckline.

Sleeve dress

Wedding dresses are made with short, medium (up to the elbow, three-quarters) and long sleeves. The most popular styles of sleeves are:

  • wings – short sleeves that freely fall down and cover only the shoulders, create a gentle image;
  • bells – the sleeves expand from the shoulder to the wrist and outwardly resemble a bell, suitable for straight and short styles of dresses;
  • flashlights – sleeves up to the elbow, which consist of a voluminous part with a hem, a neat frill or cuffs on an elastic band;
  • three-quarter sleeves – are considered strict for real ladies and are ideal for a dress made of lace;
  • juliet – long sleeves that fit tightly around the wrist, look good on wedding dresses in the medieval style
  • balloon – sleeves with a straight cut and mostly transparent, fastened at the wrist with a cuff;
  • kimono – a dress with a reference to the traditional Japanese dress – at the wrist, such sleeves turn into a wide flared;
  • transparent sleeves – can be short or long, fully flared or fit the arm;
  • slit sleeves – ideal for a light summer dress, the slit can be from the shoulder to the elbow or from the elbow to the wrist.

When choosing a closed wedding dress, remember the main rule – the simpler the skirt, the more luxurious the sleeves should be decorated. As for the fabric, usually several types of fabric are combined for their tailoring – satin, guipure, lace. In the presence of an openwork pattern, a cobweb, floral or plant patterns, geometry and other ornaments are used.

Lace closed dresses

Lace closed dress turns the bride into a real princess. Such models are made on a basic, denser fabric – for example, an openwork pattern is sewn onto a satin. Their colors don’t have to match. On a cream, beige or golden background, the snow-white pattern looks simply gorgeous. Arms and shoulders here can be both left free and covered. Lace closed dresses usually have a straight silhouette, A-line or fishtail silhouette.

Accessory selection

In closed dresses, the focus is on expensive fabric and decor, which leads to a minimum number of accessories. Massive and elaborate jewelry will not be appropriate – they make the image heavier.

Hands can be covered with a shawl, bolero or jacket. The wrist will be decorated with a bracelet made of beads, rhinestones or pearls. Low gloves in the color of the dress look good under the puffed sleeves. If your shoulders are bare, wear long elegant earrings – otherwise, opt for classic small jewelry. The ideal option is earrings that are combined with a belt or cuff decoration.

A bridal bouquet, an umbrella or a small handbag for small things will help to complete the look. As for the hairstyle, such dresses go well with a high hairstyle that opens the neck and shoulders. It is allowed to decorate hair with a comb, wreath, veil or hat. Curls can be casually gathered into a bun and hidden under a transparent single-layer veil.
